Now as you may or may not know, I enjoy the Twilight series. Yes yes, let the bashing begin. I dont give a damn what you think of me all because of one book series. Its more of a guilty pleasure for me. Im NOT saying Stephanie Meyer is the best writer in the world because, quite frankly, she isnt. BUT, her writing gets better and better the more she writes and her greatest achievement in writing will have to be her OTHER book, The Host. The Host is by far her best written work, but we're not here to talk about that awesome book, we're here to talk about Twilight, concerning the film version of New Moon, book 2 of the series.

Here is a small description of what New Moon is about:
Edward breaks up with Bella and him and his family pretty much vanish from Forks as if they never existed. This doesnt settle well for Bella and she's mentioned this...many many times...Now for some reason, she can still hear Edward's voice if she does reckless things (crazy much?). So she gets into motorcycles and this is where Jacob Black comes into play. They become great great close friends, Jacob having a crush on her and Bella does but doesnt want to do anything about because she feels its too soon and for some reason she still loves Edward, even though he's a bit of a prick. Anyway, Bella finds out that Jacob has become a werewolf and him and his pack are out to kill Victoria, who has a beef with Bella because her mate, James, was killed off by Edward because James thought it would be fun to toy with him and eat Bella because she smells so delicious. Great. So anyway, after another reckless movement by Bella, Edward thinks she commited suicide and so wants to die as well so that he can be with her again. So Bella flies over ti Italy to save him. After she does so, she meets the vampire royalty, The Volturi, who are THE coolest vampires in this whole book series, well besides Alice and Emmett.

So that's the gist of New Moon and yes that's as small as I could go. Anyway, onto the movie version.

To be honest, it followed the book quite well. And since this movie has a bigger budget now, it was by far better then the first movie, Twilight. The opening title came up rather cool but it was too slow! Its like, I get it, the transition was awesome but does it have to be that slow to get the title out? Jebus! Anyway, onward with this thing. Through out the movie, I so wanted to smack Bella in the face. Yes that's right! She's completely stupid and so should have gone with Jacob, AS IT SHOULD BE. But nooooooooooo, it had to be the first love that has to win, even though he's a controlling greedy prick with a bad case of ADD and being bipolar. Now I will admit, I used to be an Edward fan. But what did I know right? But my love for Jacob has finally come in and I find his character to be more appealing than Edward and his cheesy one liners.

Jacob Black was by far the best part of this movie. He had GREAT screen time. He was fun, funny, sweet, caring, FANTASTIC BODE THAT JUST MADE MY HEART BLEED WITH DELIGHT~! Come on, even steam came off his bode in this movie, I kid you not!!! Well, that reason is because werewolves project more heat then normal humans but Im sure if you didnt know that detail, your just like "Damn, even the movie is saying he is so hot, steam comes off him". I find Jacob Black to be a REAL man that every girl should look for, not an Edward Cullen. I feel a relationship works out even better if the man/woman you love and want to spend the rest of your life with is also your best friend that you can come to when you need to vent or just to talk to you know? Jacob Black is the perfect role model for this. But because Bella is such a Mary Sue and an idiot, she goes for the controlling prick.

Bella is a horrible role model for girls today. Now Sookie Stakhouse of True Blood is THE best role model for this kind of crazy relationship to mythical monsters such as vampires, werewolves, and so on. But anyway, we're not here for True Blood. This is about New Moon.

Now, in regards to the Volturi. They rock...so hard. The Volturi were just amazing to look at and oozing with awesome and evil that you just cant help but go "Yum!" Micheal Sheen, who played a Lycan (aka werewolf) in Underworld, played the leader of the Volturi, Aro, who can read every in your head just by one touch. He was hilarious and creepy that it just worked. Aro is always so facinated that he just made me giggle. Jane, played by Dakota Fanning, is soooooooooooooooooooooo scary lookin. I wouldnt want her watching me in the dark << >> I hate evil little girls! But she was just so enjoyable to hate and be in aw by her evil nature.

This movie had the most funny moments than Twilight. I think my favorite being how Aro is looking into Alice's thoughts and we see Edward and Bella running through the forest in slow motion wearing hippy clothes. I kid you not. Very very funny lol. The rest of the funny moments were just the idle banther you get between Jacob and Bella. Daaaaaaaaaaaaaw so cute~!

Now, I may hate Bella's character and I find her a horrible role model, I can relate to her in this book/movie because first loves always hurt the most. I also went through a time where I just didnt want to do anything or be with anyone and pretty much be a zombie, as it is mentioned in the book. But other than that, she still should have gone with Jacob. He is more HEALTHY to be with ok? Jebus...stupid girls. Forgive us, guys!

So what is my grade for this movie?

Entire film: C+
Werewolves: A+
Volturi: B
Edward Cullen: F (the less of him, the better)
Jacob Black: A+++++
Bella: inert

If your a fan of the series, Im sure you'll enjoy it like I have. If your not a fan, you might not get it but at least go see it for the half naked Jacob Black awesome and the awesome evilness of the Volturi.
